The other day I smelled funny. Even after my shower, my arms, my skin smelled weird. It was strange. Boyfriend came home after being gone for three days and was giving me hugs and kisses. He stopped, looked at me, and told me I didn't smell like his Carolyn. I smelled weird!
Boyfriend: "What did you eat while I was gone?"
Me: "I don't know. LOTS of stuff."
Boyfriend: "Well did you eat a whole bunch of garlic or something?"
Me: "No!"
a minute passes...
Me: "Oh, wait! I did eat a whole head of cabbage yesterday for dinner!"
Boyfriend: "What! That's it?"
Me: "Yeah, cabbage sounded soooooo good! So I cooked it up and ate it. I just fed the girls chicken, and I ate cabbage."
Boyfriend: "Huh, so I guess cabbage makes your skin smell funny."
Me: "Yep."
I've had major cravings this pregnancy! Major. Absolutely nothing will sound good. I start gagging thinking about food... until that one thing pops into my head... then that's all I want. I can't think of anything else but that one particular item of food! Early in the pregnancy I made fresh homemade wheat bread. Warm out of the oven, with butter and honey. Delicious, right? WRONG. I can't stand the thought of it right now! What's with me? (besides two humans taking over)
I've eaten things I wouldn't normally eat. Here is a list of sudden cravings...
- sardines! ~a whole can! While I was eating it I thought this is so gross, but it tasted so good to me.
- radishes ~raw, yummy and crunchy
- pickles ~duh!
- green olives ~straight from the jar
- Arbies ~I would never choose to eat there, until I needed one of their roast beef sandwiches
- tuna fish sandwiches
- cereal ~particularly shredded mini wheats
- beets ~steamed with olive oil and salt
- green apples ~tart and mouth watering
- scrambled egg sandwiches ~just like how mom used to make 'em

you HAVE to HAVE to HAVE to keep making posts about this pregnancy. Then you can look back on it when you are done and be like WOW. You can make it into a blog book. It was fun talking with you today. Thanks for making my hair so cute. i still think sardines sound NASTY.
Yup... sardines?? Gross. But at least your cravings are pretty healthy. You are so silly!!
UUMMM! Yuck! But funny! I didn't know cabbage made you smell! But then again I've never eaten a whole head!
Maybe its bc it is TWO BOYS!!!! I think it is hilarious. That is how I have been this time too. Absolutely nothing sounds good until I figure that one thing and that is ALL I want. But I only have 1 baby, so I bet it is multiplied by 2. :)
This post is gross. I was only kidding when I suggested posting the cabbage story.
This pregnancy is really hard for me too. I find myself eating a lot of chocolate because no one else is eating it.
Crazy what your body does when it's growing little ones! I loved the pickles, tuna, eggs anything and cereal as well. I also knew I was pregnant with Laurissa when I didn't like the taste of choc....
It's just wrong I tell ya!
I'm thinking the sardines aren't worth it-no matter how GOOD they sound....I had a thing for Arby's sandwiches too! And Taco Bell, go figure?
I should be careful not discouraging you by making too many comparisons to my kids, eh?
Overall, sounds pretty healthy! Mmm, I love green olives. I HAD to have McDonald's cheeseburgers a couple times when I was pregnant with James. Darn, too bad I never craved cabbage, beets, or radishes! But I was turned OFF by ice cream during both of my pregnancies!
Too funny Aaron is compensating with the chocolate... Ha!
You've inspired me to fry some cabbage up to go with our pork chops tonight. YUMMMMM!
I can't get over the beet craving. That is just odd!
all i can say is boy A & boy B!!!!
good luck!! ;)
Let me get this straight, your daughter is psychic, your hubby buys great gifts, and your having TWINS! Heavens to Betsy....i am so excited for you!! David called the other day and i about fell out!! I will start bringing you dinner as soon as they get here!! I am so happy for yall! Let me know if you need anything!! Congrats! Harper
O yeah, whats up with the "newbies" getting Ipod touch's!! So unfair!! I want one!! Harper
eeewwwww.....
I hear you -- all I wanted was grapefruit. LOL
So funny! You know, some people say that babies like the foods they were exposed to in the womb. "Mommmy, I don't want chicken nuggets... I want sardines and cabbage please!" :)
So let me know when you start craving meat from a whole cow- that's when you'll know you're having boys! Good luck!
Oh, that is too funny and well...seriously gross!! I agree with Betsie - keep posting all about this pregnancy...keep us all entertained! :)
I think I'm going to puke just reading your cravings. That's disgusting. Cabbage? Just cabbage? I don't even think I know what cabbage tastes like. Interesting...very interesting.
