Every year my three sisters and I get together for our Annual Sister-Get-Together. This year it was hosted by the youngest sister, where she lives in Las Vegas. It was scheduled for the end of February. I was thrilled when my doctor gave me the go ahead to travel! The doctor did have me take along a copy of all my paper work. So I got to leave for a long weekend (with out kids) laughing and playing with my sistas. Traveling ended up paying a toll on me, but it was so worth it. Laughter is very good for the soul and we did a lot of laughing!
My limitations did limit what we could do and for how long, but we still had fun. My sisters had for me a bright red wheelchair. They took their turns wheeling me around the Fashion Show Mall. It was humbling. I also might have hopped on one of those electric shopping carts at Target one night. And in case you were planning on using one of those, let me warn you that it WILL make a back up beeping noise and it WILL be extremely loud!!!
With each towel my stitches got a little better. This picture is of the first towel I tried. I really enjoyed embroidering. When I first started, Boyfriend came home from work that evening and stopped in his tracks when he saw me sitting there, by the lamp, needle, thread, and an embroidery hoop. It was a very odd site to see me doing that. Eden and Ava were constantly interested in what I was working on.
I found a great idea from the blog Filth Wizardry that kept the older one busy for a while.
She felt so grown up and loved learning a new skill. And she and I both loved doing a fun project together.

That towel is so cute. I love Eden's rainbow too. You should frame it for her room.
Did you get a picture of you and all your sisters? I love, LOVE the towels. And what a neat skill to do with Eden. May have to steal the idea, if I ever sit for a second.
Oh, btw you are looking really, really good at 32 weeks. Can't believe there are two babies in there.
What a fun activity to do with Eden. She did such a great job. Darleen is right, you are looking so good!
What a great idea! I might steal the idea also. I have always wanted to learn to embroider. I guess I need to sit down and do it. My daughter would love it. Her birthday is coming soon. Maybe I can get her started. Thanks Carolyn. I agree with Darleen. You look great for being 32 weeks along.
Your handiwork is beautiful. I think it is super you are teaching Eden a lost art. Real cool, friend. xoxo
You look amazing! Love the towels! What a good mom you are. Would you recommend I try passing out needles around here?
Sitting down by the lamplight doing needlepoint? That's so Jane Austen! I haven't seen your blog in a few weeks. I start reading blogs but don't make it all the way down to the W's. I guess I need to move you up to the C's. But I have been thinking about you a lot lately! Your babies are coming (if they haven't already) and then you're coming here in a couple months. Seriously, let me know if I can do anything to help!
