Happy 4th Of July!

This holiday really is my favorite. For me, there is just something about the patriotism and the good feelings of spending time with family, celebrating our roots! This year we spent the holiday in Peachtree City, Georgia, visiting with great friends.
Early that morning we sat waiting for the parade to start.

This was the BEST part of the parade. I was suddenly overwhelmed with pride, respect and gratitude for EVERYTHING that was ever given to allow me my freedoms.
I love this! So cute! These are a couple of our friends we spent the weekend with.
Mr. "Flag in the Hat", was our host for the weekend and also our constant comic relief of the morning. The parade was great, but it's always more fun with a professional hackler around to tease all those in the parade! He made sure we were all noticed and tossed our fair share of candy!
Love this girl!
The parade brigade gave out BomPops!
BomPops! Awesome!
It was a perfect start of a great day.
Later, we reunited with a long lost friend and took off to picnic and watch fireworks.
We spent the time frisbeeing...
chatting...
sparklering...
(this picture is of four girls who all grew up together sharing a great childhood friendship in Las Vegas - but now reuniting in Georgia! Crazy!)
reconnecting with a long lost friend from childhood...
...and remembering the joy & blessings I have because I was born in a free country and all the good things, just that alone, has given me.

What a wonderful way to spend the July 4th. Those Bompops sure are a lot smaller than I remember them!
