Many of you have probably seen the desert sculptures upon arriving at the Vegas airport. My girls certainly saw them.
For some reason, every time I look at this particular photo, the Never Ending Story theme song keeps running through my head.
"Atreyu!"
Oh, good times. I just love that little Ava button slippin' and sliden' all over trying to climb up by her big sister.
The long vacation back west was for two reasons:
- My parents were allowed a brief trip home from there two year mission in the Phillipines specifically for my dad's school dedication. (you know there will be more posts of that to come!) They have been gone one full year, so one more now to go.
- My boyfriend's family (that's my husband) had a reunion up in Aspen Grove. (again, more to come).
As soon as we arrived home at Mom & Dad's, things picked up right where they left off. Grandma got right back into the "Grandma Business".

Then, off to see Grandma Waite. Ava ran into her Uncle Stephen (the youngest of the 9 Waite kids). She wasn't too sure about him at first but by the last day, she warmed up.

I think I am crazy. I looked at those pictures and thought that sculpture was cool. I have NEVER seen it. It is pretty big...I am wondering how I missed it?

Carrow, do you remember that small scar on my right shoulder that we used to refer to as "Falcore" - that flying dog thing from "Never Ending Story?" I don't think I've referred to it as that since 1996... :) Glad you had a fun time here in LV! Next time, pretty please come see me!
PS-What an honor that a school is being named after your dad! Not many kids can say that! I remember him being my very first principle when I went to kindergarten...I was always scared of being naughty in school and being sent to his office. Thankfully, that didn't happen. :)

Miss you guys already. Wish you could of stayed longer. I'm serious about getting together sometime soon. Maybe you guys should come up and stay with us when the baby is born and my parents come up (hint, hint). Free lodging.
