I'm having second thoughts on being a responsible home owner. First a garage floor covered with grossness, and then the big roof leak (which turned out to be extensive damage), and now:
TERMITES!!!!
Yes, not only do we now have a termite problem, but they are also swarming. That means swarms of termites in my house! **Chills***Shivers** The good news is when they swarm inside a house, they just die and land all over your floor for you to vacuum up. Luckily, Lewis Pest Control, is about to save the day!
The story is...
When we moved in 9 months ago, Aaron just happened to push against the right window sill in the little girls' room, and the wood crumbled to the floor. We call up the "termite inspection people" (who told us there wasn't any termites or damage upon moving in) and had them fix things up. They also told us it was very old damage and there wasn't any signs of termites now.
Stupid-believable-gullible us say, "Cool".
Fast forward 9 months. While painting the girls' room, Aaron noticed wood dust and tiny holes in that same window sill! We call up OUR pest control people who tell us they will come right away to take care of the problem before they swarm. Today is the day they are coming...and today is the day those termites have decided to swarm! I hope Lewis Pest Control hurries up!!!
I have the door closed to the room with a towel shoved up against it in case termites are smart enough to go under a door.
I now need to go itch and scratch my arms, neck, legs, and head because I'm sure termites are crawling all over me!

First- Ooooh I like the new header! Very cute!
Second- I am so sorry that sound horrible. When we lived in Provo our landlord decided to pour gas on the weeds outside our house to kill them. It probably killed the weeds but it also forced all the bugs inside. My mom was staying with us for the first time and she woke up to flying ants, and bugs climbing all over her. My floor was so covered with bugs it was almost black! I feel your pain. And I will itch my arms now just because of your story. Yuck!
That sounds horrible.... just reading this makes me itch. I hope they can fix this problem once and for all, so you don't have to deal with this again. Good luck !!
That is crazy! I'm so sorry you are dealing with this. Makes me want to call up that company and give them a piece of my mind for messing with my family. I hope the pest control people can help the situation. I wonder if the previous owners knew. Hope all goes well. Hope your weekend gets better.
Oh ny heck I'm so sorry!!!! That makes me sick!!! Let us know how it goes!!! :( Yuck...
Hey remember us from Salt Lake City? Nancy gave me your blog link and told me you are living in memphis. Is this true? We are moving out there this May! Sorry to hear about the termite problem, that sounds awful! Hope that doesn't happen to us when we move to our new home!
Ewwwwwww! So sorry you are dealing with little buggies!
Oh, I feel your pain. We had termites swarm our living space when I was on my mission. Every night during that time when we got home for the night we had to wash our sheets because they were all in our beds. Disgusting.
Yikes! I am sorry, babe. You could have a blog pool on how many you end up vacuuming!!!
Oh, I am so sorry. What a mess to have to deal with. I hope they come and be done with it!! Bugs are so icky...living in TX we had big BUGS, fire ants were the worst.
I hope somehow this is made up to you from when you bought the house- saying you were clear of them!
so sorry.
As if you dont have enough to deal with...........hope they fix the problem, fast!! I can not imagine, Causey would just crawl around and eat them!! Let us know if you need anything!! Harper
Caroline. I'm so sorry. That sounds like a big old pain in the rear, but I'm sure it'll all be ok : ) Good luck with your April showers too....
