Chocolate Bundt Cake

Yes, it is yummy! Every fourth Sunday the Garrett Family has a family dinner. My little ol' family our included and what an honor that is! The rules are: Nita (momma Garrett or "Nana" as the grand kids and now Eden call her) makes the main dish and then everyone else brings all the sides and desserts. There is always plenty of really good southern food to go around. So today I brought my chocolate bundt cake with chocolate frosting on top. It's quiet delish.

Chocolate Bundt Cake
  1. One package plain devils food cake mix (see, it is easy)
  2. One package ~3.9 ounce~ chocolate instant pudding mix
  3. Four large eggs
  4. One cup sour cream
  5. 1/2 cup warm water
  6. 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  7. One and a half cup semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly mist bundt pan with that wonderful spray made by Pam that butter's and flours all at the same time. I think it is called Pam for Baking.
Then mix all ingredients except the chocolate chips together. When well incorporated fold in chocolate chips. Pour into pan and bake for 45-50 minutes. When the cake spring back when lightly pressed and starts to pull away from the sides of the pan, then it's done. Let the cake cool before spreading your yummy chocolate frosting on top.

Yummy Chocolate Frosting

  1. Half cup butter (one stick)
  2. 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
  3. 1/3 cup milk
  4. One 16 ounce package of powdered sugar
Stir together first three ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat until butter is melted. Cook, stirring constantly, two minutes or until slightly thickened; remove from heat. Whisk in powdered sugar until smooth.

I like to use a 1/4 cup measuring cup to ladle frosting over bundt cake and let it naturally drip over the edge. It makes for a mouth watering presentation.

WARNING: When eating this cake, always have lots of milk on hand.

P.S. Mom, I don't know if you can get these products in the Philippines, but next time you need to bring a dessert, this might be the one. But wait, do you have milk to drink there?

It looks like you have a whole another family out there watching over you. That's great! Your bundt cake sounds really good--is it similar to that cake shop called Nothin'Bundt Cake?

Oh, if we only had means to a nothing bundt cake here! This is a pretty good contender.

Your bundt cake was delicious and so moist. Thanks for bringing it. It'll probably be your signature dish. In the future I can hear Nanna planning out a dinner and saying "and Carolyn can bring her chocolate bundt cake".
