Alton Boy

Isn't this boy handsome? He grew up in a tiny town, Alton Utah. It is
tucked back up in the hills on the east side of the mountain behind
Cedar City. Off of old Hwy 89. His daddy would travel up north to sheer
sheep during the winter months and the town had a mine a lot of the men
worked at during the warmer months. Just a little ol' hill-billy... but
grew up quite smart. In a nut shell - He worked his way through school.
After getting his masters in education he kept on going to school,
working until he received a doctor degree in education. He is an
amazing teacher and an even better dad! I'm so proud of my dad and what
he has become. So now I get to brag about him even more in our
accomplishment of getting a school built and named after him in Las Vegas. It will be finished this fall and the name dedication will be June of 2008. That means Dad and Mom will get to come home from thePhillippines just for that. (They arrived in
Manila just this past Sunday) Our family had fun picking the school
colors and mascot. The school song is even one Dad composed himself
back during his college days. Little did he know it would really come
in handy someday. I love you Dad!

Congratulations to your Dad! What a wonderful accomplishment and compliment. Now you know for sure that his name will go down in history. The school looks really nice too.

Hmmmm. This little dog was named "Mickey" because it was black and white like Mickey Mouse.

Thansk for the compliments.

Actually, my dad would sheer sheep in the spring and summer, and work in the mine during the cold months -- digging coal to sell to warm the houses and melt the snow off the roofs.
