I stopped into a cake supply store to check out their fun supplies. I'm
not a cake decorator and have learned such a hobby is not for me, but
it doesn't mean I don't like to look around and get inspired. I was the
only one in the store and so the shop owner invited me back into her
kitchen where she was making Oreo Balls. She let me try one. Of course
it was delicious! She asked me if I would like a copy of the recipe.
And here I am sharing it with all of you! They are very rich, one will
do you. I thought it would be fun to make these on special occasions or
maybe at Christmas using mint oreos. She also dips the balls in white chocolate and calls them dirty snowballs.
Oreo Balls
1 package (1lb 2oz) Oreo Cookies
1 Package (8 oz) Cream Cheese, room temp.
Chocolate for dipping - 1lb (white, milk, or dark)
Crush oreos, finely. (I used my food processor) Mix oreos
and cream cheese until a chunky dough forms. Refrigerate for 1 hr or
overnight. Using a small scooper, form into balls. (approx. 1 inch) Dip
into melted chocolate. Place on parchment paper to let chocolate cool
and set up. Keep refrigerated.
