A New Angel

I only personally know a handful of men, I qualify to be extraordinary.

Here is one of the top men on the list:
McKay Christensen

He would be my grandfather-in-law. 100% Danish. And the only grandfather I personally knew in this life due to mine passing on before I was born.

Grandpa McKay was born in 1911! He's 96 years old.

Here he is being so patient with our first child, Eden. When Aaron was only an undergrad, we lived close enough to visit Grandpa and Grandma a couple times a month. He has been such a wonderful example to us. It was our privilege to serve him when we could (ie: by cutting his hair, cleaning his house, work in his yard.) We would always leave his house feeling uplifted and loved.

He has five children and only like a million grandkids and a billion great grandchildren.
{I love that Eden and Grandpa are totally having a moment in this picture while Aaron and I were so focused on getting the shot.}

Well tonight Grandpa McKay is reunited with his eternal sweetheart. I'm sure Heaven was rejoicing his return. It must have been a magnificent reunion with her and with his parents who both died when he was only a young boy. It has been such an honor to know him as I got to, and this is why:
I've never personally known anyone who is more...
  1. Gentlemanly
  2. Patient
  3. Humble
  4. Wise
A very Christ-like man. Oooo I married into good blood.

Dear Carolyn,

I didn't know that you did not know your Grandparents. Grandpa McKay would be so proud to have been your Grandpa also! The picture of Eden with her fingers in his mouth is so precious. I don't remember seeing that before. Thank you for the lovely tribute.

Love, his daughter, Kathleen Christensen Waite
