I've forgotten how much I really enjoy the taste of figs. My superb mother-in-law introduced me to this yummy fruit the fresh way. She is lucky enough to have her very own fig tree right in her backyard. I wonder what wonderful things she is making this season out of those purple bulbish fruits. I picked up a few from our produce market, Easyway. I love this place! I thought I would be adventurous and bake with 'em. Do you all know about allrecipes.com? I love that place too! You can find any recipe about any item you would ever want. I'm baking me up some Fig Cookies right now. I haven't tried one yet... hold on, I'll take a bite... Eh, it's all right. I think I might have over baked them. I do like, however, the ground clove taste which was an ingredient. Next time I think I'll try my figs with goat cheese. I love me some goat cheese!

Hi,
Thanks for the link (pic)!
Have you tried making fig jam? I give a description here.
Happy Labor day!
Best,

i've never tried figs. i'll have to give it a whirl...
Yumm...I'll have to agree! I think figs are my favorite fruit! Whoever hasn't tried one, you need to do it. And don't think you don't like figs if you don't like Fig Newtons. The taste is totally different in a fresh fig.
All I know is Fig Newton. Actually, did you know that a fly of some type has to crawl into the fig and stay there in order for the fig to become a fruit?
I learned that watching TV. You should do more of that.
Dad
Fig wasps grow in caprifigs but not in the other because the female trees' female flower part is too long for the wasp to successfully lay her eggs in them. Nonetheless, the wasp pollinates the flower with pollen from the fig it grew up in, so figs with developed seeds also contain dead fig wasps almost too tiny to see.
From Wikpedia
I'm still trying to get use to figs. It's a mature taste but Lucas really took a liking to it.
Based on that info from Wikipedia, I think you should change the title to "Figs are Yucky."
