My Attempts...

I didn't think about taking pictures of the girls in their Easter dresses before church. As soon as we got home I cornered them and tried to snap a few. ...disheveled hair, no cute white sweaters, and of course no shoes!
"Eden, yes you look pretty, but let's wait for Ava. Ava, put the bag of Easter candy down and go stand by Eden."

"Okay, fine Ava! Keep the bag! Can you smile pretty then?"

"Not quite the smile there kid."

"Okay, but now I need you to stand up straight and tall so I can see your dresses."

Sigh... nice Easter candy tongue Eden. "Girls, no more clowning around. All you have to do is stand still and smile pretty for one picture."

This is a classic scene at our house - Ava, checking out big sister, to see if we really are going to stop clowning around. And as you can see by Eden's face, Ava got her answer!

Maybe that actually is a little effort on Ava's part. ...but not the case with the other girl.

"Okay, just one more girls. Please show me your fancy dresses, okay?"

"Oh, see my dress Momma?"

another sigh, but totally lovin' these girls!

I didn't get any decent pictures either. I waited til after church, then it was raining and windy- and the baby was asleep. Those dresses are adorable and I LOVE that wood floor. Is that Brazilian cherry?

Grandpa Owen couldn't stop laughing. These are classic. Send them in to the Reader's Digest or Family Circle. The whole world needs to see this sequence.

I don't feel so bad now. I didn't get pictures until after church, too. At least your girls would stand together, both kids refused to sit on the step together so I have them by themselves.

Your girls are so dang cute. Eden is looking so old!

They're adorable, and their personalities make them that much more endearing.

They look cute! Even if their hair is a little dishelved. Yeah...Seth was questioning me why we were taking pictures when we were hurrying off to church. I said--no way. They'd be a mess when we got home.

wait a sec. i'm not the only ones who can't get 2 wiggle worms to look at the same place at the same time?! at least these pix capture the true personalities and really, are more interesting than two angels staring into the camera. this is what i tell myself anyway.
