Happy Earth Day Ya'll.
Both the girls are napping - doesn't happen often! So I'm sitting here at my kitchen table with the windows wide open. The birds are singing and there is the quiet sound of April showers sprinkling the flowers. About 5 squirrels (not chipmunks) are darting around with pecan nuts in their mouths looking for sneaky hiding spots. Those spots are usually in each of the garden beds and alongside every newly planted flower.
Oh, wait a minute - some action just took place. Birds have been nesting in all of our trees and one of those squirrels apparently got way too close to a momma birds' nest and she pecked him all the way as he scurried across the top of the fence. She told him.
Yeah, so ummm, anyways. I also can smell the most delicious roses I've ever smelled! No kidding. They are sitting on my kitchen table. Boyfriend brought them home from work. One of the patients at the V.A. hospital brought a whole basket full of thick long stemmed roses which he has been growing for years.I had no idea roses actually could smell this amazing!
There is one rose in particular - although it doesn't match the others in smell it makes up for it in looks...
"Memphis Magic" is what the Ol' Man named his one of a kind rose:
Boyfriend asked the story behind it... One day one of his rose bushes mutated one single rose with this very dark color and stripe. So he cut off that stem and rooted it - starting it's very own bush, and this is it's produce. He says it's only here in Memphis, thus naming it "Memphis Magic".

I am totally fascinated with people who can come up with their own design of flowers. that is really pretty. I would love to live somewhere a little greener than good old SLC.
Sounds like a nice relaxing day - at least until the girls wake up. Enjoy!
That flower is cool. Dont you love when both kids nap. It is like a little piece of heaven.
WOW! So pretty!
