Is This For Real

Those who know me well, will know what a crowning moment this must be in my life! I ran a 5K and took 3rd place!!!!

Granted there was only like 10 other racers.
Granted I was able to take a place by only (I say "only" lightly) running it in 28 minutes and 14 seconds.

You should have seen how proud my silly sweaty red face was when I received this!!! A medal for me?... and for running?... oh, come on!

Actually you can see how I looked because unfortunately that picture was posted HERE.

Hmmm, well now that I've picked up this running disease, I think I'll just keep running. How does a half marathon in April sound?

Carolyn, I am so proud of you! I had the "running bug" last year and did my first half-marathon. Of course I didn't place, but finished none the less! This year however, I am not so motivated...

You are so cute! That is totally awesome that you got a metal! I'd be so proud especially b/c I think running is the hardest thing ever and hate it! Thanks for dropping me a note and for the name suggestion, I love the name Aspen, too bad Scarlet's little girl has taken that adorable name. Everyone already has the cute names! We'll be struggling in the hospital, I know it. oh well, hope you are doing well. I love checkin up on you guys, your girls crack me up. so darling and totally funny.

Congratulations! That is a huge accomplishment!
So we are moving to NC this summer. I wonder how far that is from you guys?!? That would be so great to get together. I hear we might get together this summer in the Outer Banks with Darleen and her family. I really hope it works out and we can all get together!

congrats....i am just getting started with running and can't imagine doing a 5k or a half marathon. my friends are all runners, so I guess I need to join in. My problem is I hate to sweat and my face gets very red! Thanks for the inspiration! Did Aaron show you the pictures of him on my facebook? He was so dang cute as a 3 year old!

Carolyn! That's awesome! You definitely should be proud. I have a dream that one day I can run a 5K. My body still hates me when I try to push 2 miles. Way to go!

That is fantastic! Way to go. I have never ever been a runner much less any kind of exercise, but I've been thinking about this couch to 5k program. You're inspired me to give it a go.
