Water Logged

Oh man! It rained buckets all weekend. I should have listened to that voice telling me, "The seeds you planted a week ago need to be brought inside out of the rain!". I brushed the thought aside and figured with the lid it had on top, they would be fine. I was wrong.
This is after I poured all the water out. But those pods were basically floating in water. These would have been peppers, 2 different kinds of squash, and 3 different kinds of tomatoes. Maybe they will still grow, but I'm not too hopeful. I'll have to start again tomorrow.
I have Basil, Chive, and Dill up on my kitchen window sill. At least the Basil seems to be happy!

oh, don't ya just want to say WHY- I remember one year I planted a whole HUGE bed of pansies (hardy, not bulit for snow though), the weather had been beautiful for 2 weeks straight, so I was in the safe zone, or at least I thought! We had the biggest snow storm at the end of March that year.....I ran out there with tarps to cover my beautiful pansies that I spent $$$ on, not all was a loss- so I know what it feels like to lose a couple ; ). your basil, chives , and dill look great!

Ah, bugger. I'm sorry. If it makes you feel any better. The first thing I tried to plant from seedling was lavender. Come to find out it supposedly the hardest to start from seedling. Oh, the trial and error of a novice. I have yet to see any lavender.

That is very sad. On a brighter note your basil is hanging in there. Go basil go!

Plus, my mom just told me that you can plant green onions and they grow super fast. I just planted mine the other day and they have already grown some. Just buy some green onions from the store
(that have a little root on them) cut off the green part so only about 2 inches of white/light green is left and plant so that some of the green is above ground. It may make you feel better to get some instant satisfaction.

Oh man, I feel for you. I hope not everything is lost.
I was looking forward to some gardening this year too, but I don't know how to start. Thanks for that helpful website about gardening. Good luck with your new seedlings. Miss you.....
