To the Rescue!

So we got a phone call from a friend this evening asking us if we could save a baby chick! She wasn't expecting any more of her eggs to hatch, but one little chick popped out only a half hour before we got to take it home. You can see her travel case was very cozy and high tech.Eden was supposed to be asleep while Aaron and I tried to arrange our new guest's living conditions. We stepped out of the room for two seconds and found Eden staring into the box with big eyes and a big grin. When she saw me she said, "Momma, it's a little baby chick!" It was quite the ordeal getting her to go to sleep after this excitement. The other chicks we are expecting, can't be shipped via mail until the weather cools down some. We were trying to be patient with our delay... and so this baby chick was a fun surprise! I think she likes us.

Tiny and cute! What are you going to do with a chick? What happens to it when it grows up? Dinner?

When it grows up it will live in the backyard and give us fresh eggs!
